• 제목 : Scaling up Quantum Simulation using Quantum Error Mitigation in a trapped ion system
• 초록 : In this seminar, I’d like to discuss about how to scale up the trapped ion system capable of the universal quantum operations for useful applications [1]. First, I will briefly review the quantum gates using vibrational modes of trapped ions for arbitrary pairs in a long ion chain, and then discuss how to perform the global entangle operations for more than two qubits [2]. Then the potential applications and challenges in realizing global gates for large number of qubits will be discussed. Second, I will introduce the quantum error mitigation method to symmetrically suppress errors in quantum operations without additional quantum resources like qubits [3,4]. Finally, I will discuss the prospects of combining the best parts of quantum and classical computation to address practical problems without quantum error corrections.
